FTR keep their AEW Tag titles, even series with Cope & Christian

On Wednesday’s go home edition of Dynamite, FTR and Stokely Hathaway assaulted Adam Copeland and Christian Cage. The move was designed to give the AEW Tag champs an advantage heading into their defense against the two legends tonight (April 12) at the company’s Dynasty PPV.
The Patriarch used his brains to stay ahead of Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler early in the match…
… but they were able to target the wing they wounded on Wednesday…
AEW PPV matches don’t end that easily, though. Cage fought through his issues, saving his partner from eating a pin after FTR bloodied whim with the belt by throwing their manager into him. But when he tried to thwart their tricks again, Wheeler threw him into the timekeeper’s area and we never saw him again…
The Top Guys confidently swooped on Copeland at that point, planning to taunt their rivals The Young Bucks by using their BTE Trigger to beat the Rated-R Superstar. But Cope had too much grit to go out like that. He tried for a follow-up Spear on Harwood, but that was dodged to set-up a finishing Shatter Machine.
Let us know what you thought of FTR retaining over Cope & Cage in the comments below. Us? That evens things up after Beth Copeland helped her hubby and his grumpy friend win in Toronto last year, so we’re looking forward to part III. And we really think the eventual Triple Threat Ladder Match between the former Edge & Christian, The Bucks, and Dax & Cash is gonna rule.
