Roman Reigns on Retirement: “I’m 40 Years Young”

Roman Reigns isn’t ready to retire from WWE just yet. The 40-year-old superstar addressed his future plans in a recent interview, making it clear he still has more to accomplish in the ring.
There is still a little more juice to squeeze,” Reigns said during an interview with Nico Leonard to promote WrestleMania 42. “Almost there, but not quite.
The WWE superstar explained his reasoning for continuing to compete despite approaching what many consider the twilight of a wrestling career. He pointed to advances in sports science and nutrition that have extended careers across professional wrestling.
Financial and Creative Motivations
Reigns elaborated on both the financial and creative factors keeping him active.
I still feel like I have a lot to offer. I’m 40 years young,” he stated. With everything that we have within sports science, nutrition, all the information we have, careers have been extended. We also get to a point where you grind it out early in your career, and then once you get towards the back end, that equity kicks in, and then you get into a different ballpark as far as finances. I’m not going to leave the park now. If the ATM machine isn’t broken, you’re not going to run away from it. You’re going to keep collecting that money.
He added that creative opportunities remain a driving force. “I still feel like, creatively, there is so much left for me to do, and there is still a great deal of earning for me to take advantage of.”
