Tomer Capone’s archived interview resurfaces, raises questions around ‘The Boys’ actor and Amazon

Tomer Capone, who served as an IDF soldier, described night raids, detentions, and confrontations in an old interview

Tomer Capone, the Israeli actor, best known for playing Frenchie in The Boys, is facing renewed attention after a 2016 interview discussing his military service resurfaced online.

In the archived interview with Ynet, Capone reportedly spoke at length about his time in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Paratroopers Brigade, where he served as both a combat soldier and later a commander. He described the early period of his service as intense but, at times, even exhilarating, recalling long stretches stationed with fellow soldiers, the sense of camaraderie, and the extreme conditions they lived under.

He allegedly described participating in night raids to detain individuals, explaining how soldiers would enter homes and carry out arrests based on intelligence. In one instance, he recalled a situation where a family resisted as soldiers attempted to take their 18-year-old daughter, leading to a physical struggle.

“In the middle of the night, you enter a family’s house, you’re not aggressive, but the family doesn’t let you take their 18-year-old daughter easily”

Beyond that specific incident, Capone also reportedly spoke about other aspects of his service, including enforcing restrictions at checkpoints, situations involving civilians attempting to pass for medical reasons, and moments of tension and confrontation. He acknowledged instances of aggression, confusion, and what he described as “chaos” during operations, as well as behavior among soldiers that ranged from frustration-driven actions to misconduct.

The resurfacing of these remarks has sparked debate across social media, particularly as Capone’s international visibility has grown through The Boys.

Some online users have questioned whether Amazon, which produces and distributes the series, should address the renewed attention surrounding the actor’s past statements.
