Recently, a woman called Annie arrived at George Shuttleworth’s funeral parlour, and she was far from pleased.
Confronting George – who had lately handled her mother’s funeral arrangements – alongside Todd Grimshaw and Christina Boyd, Annie directed accusations at George, alleging he’d manipulated her mum and taken advantage of her vulnerability to secure a place in her will.
Annie claimed that her late mother had altered the will to leave George a staggering £10,000. A stunned George maintained his innocence, but Annie remained sceptical with the latter having since taken George to court, turning other clients against him and posting negative reviews.
Recently, Annie prevailed in her legal battle with George, despite her allegations being false. George was ordered to repay the money he supposedly owed to her, while also covering her substantial legal fees.
In forthcoming scenes, a dejected George reveals to sister Glenda that he may have to sell the business to RestEasy at a reduced price. Meanwhile, Christina quietly hatches a plan. What will she do?
Todd’s courageous choice
Coronation Street spoilers for next week have confirmed what happens next between Theo Silverton and Todd Grimshaw(Image: ITV)
Soap viewers will remember that Theo Silverton, portrayed by James Cartwright, has been abusing and manipulating his partner Todd Grimshaw, portrayed by Gareth Pierce, for months, even coercing him into marrying him last month.
Fortunately, Theo’s true colours are beginning to show on the cobbles, as Todd’s father figure and colleague George saw straight through the villainous builder. Meanwhile, Gary Windass has pledged to stand by Todd, sacking Theo from his position and confronting him over his conduct.
With the walls closing in around him, Theo is desperately attempting to relocate to Belfast with Todd. However, spoilers for the coming week hint that his dark secret could be blown wide open following his role in leaving Billy Mayhew for dead in the Corriedale crash earlier this year, as Todd faces a pivotal moment.
In forthcoming scenes, Sarah Platt alerts George to Theo and Todd’s plans. The pair head off with Summer to confront Todd, only to be outsmarted by Theo, who uses the ring doorbell to falsely claim they are already en route and that Todd is stopping for petrol.
On Wednesday, in a moving one strand episode, Todd finally stands up against Theo as he reports him for assault(Image: ITV)
Meanwhile, Todd persuades Theo to unlock the bedroom door and allow him to ring Sarah to corroborate his story, promising it will prove he can be trusted. Todd successfully convinces Sarah that Theo’s version of events was accurate.
Later, Theo pretends to head for a shower while Todd finishes packing his belongings. With Theo momentarily out of the picture, Todd attempts to flee — but will he manage to escape the flat? Back home, Sarah is chatting with Kit when the buzzer sounds — but who is at the door?
On Wednesday, in a powerful single-strand episode, Todd finally takes a stand against Theo, reporting him for assault and bravely recounting months of abuse to DS Lisa Swain and Kit Green.
Elsewhere, Theo is aware his days are numbered and is frantically attempting to flee Weatherfield, but as word of his violent and controlling conduct begins to circulate, has his window of opportunity already closed?
