The Healthiest Frozen Pizzas, According To Nutritionists

As the self-proclaimed queen of pizza, I know my way around a slice or two. Naturally, I have my favorite pizza spots where I live, but sometimes when the craving hits, I’ll simply scoop up a slice at the nearest dollar pizza shop. And then we are all familiar with the days when you simply want to snuggle up on the couch, have some pizza, and watch a movie. In those instances, a home-cooked pizza is always best.

But when time is of the essence, and let’s face it, by the time you finally pick what movie to watch, it’s already past your bedtime—so you better act fast! Frozen pizza is a great staple to have on hand when you’re jonesing for a pie. Not all pizzas are created equal, though, so we consulted top nutritionists to see which frozen pizzas they veer toward when that need for something cheesy and delicious strikes.

Table 87 Coal Oven Margherita Pizza By The Slice

Table 87

Nutritionist Sasha Chamberlain, M.S., RDN, says Table 87’s Margherita Pizza gets her vote for both quality and taste. “I love that I can heat up an individual slice of New York-style pizza at home and pair it with a salad for a quick, healthy meal,” she shares. The handy packaging allows shoppers to grab as much, or as little, pizza as they want—there’s no need to commit to an entire pie if you’re only craving one slice. “It’s a great choice for anyone who wants portion-controlled, thin-crust pizza with minimal ingredients,” Chamberlain adds.

“If I’m grabbing a frozen pizza, I’m reaching for Amy’s Margherita Pizza,” says nutritionist Meaghan Ormsby, M.S., RDN. “It tastes good, feels satisfying, and I feel good about the ingredients—things like extra virgin olive oil and real cheeses you’d use at home,” she explains. “Plus it’s an easy, no-effort meal when life (or travel) is chaotic.”

Caulipower Dill Pickle Pizza

Caulipower

According to registered dietitian Stacey Woodson, M.S., RDN, LDN, Caulipower’s Dill Pickle Cauliflower Pizza is a total standout. It’s her favorite because it provides a “bold, tangy bite that balances the creamy, cheesy goodness with a punch of pickle flavor.” Plus, the crust provides 14 grams of protein per serving, along with fiber, making it super fulfilling. “When I am selecting a frozen pizza, I go for a thick, doughy crust loaded with vibrant veggies for a burst of fiber, color, and antioxidants, and of course, plenty of black olives for heart-healthy fats,” Woodson explains.

Banza Four Cheese Pizza

Banza

“Banza’s pizza crust is made from chickpeas, making it an excellent option for individuals with gluten restrictions,” explains nutritionist Jessica Clancy-Strawn, M.A., RDN. She champions the chickpea-based crust because it gives the pizza a very bread-like texture compared to cauliflower-based alternatives. Additionally, “Chickpeas add meaningful nutritional benefits,” she shares, “including higher fiber content and a more glucose‑friendly profile—especially helpful for those who are insulin‑deficient or insulin‑sensitive.”
