NFL Draft rumors 2026: NY Giants reportedly among teams looking to trade down

Breer wrote that “The problem for those five is finding teams to move up.”

The Giants, looking to reimagine their roster in John Harbaugh’s first year as head coach, have only two selections, picks 5 and 37, in the top 100. They do not have a third-round pick after sending that to the Houston Texans a year ago in their trade back into Round 1 to select quarterback Jaxson Dart.

Additional picks in the middle of the draft woud, of course, be welcomed by Harbaugh and GM Joe Schoen.

The problem is that this is a draft without multiple high-end quarterbacks who will go in the top 10, and that features several non-positional value players at the top of the board who will be “beauty in the eye of the beholder” types.

Breer speculated that two players might be trade targets for some teams — Ohio State edge defender Arvell Reese if he falls a few spots, and Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love.

It seems unlikely the Giants would have interest in Reese. They might, as we know, have interest in Love.
