ISL 2025-26: Braian Sanchez available for Bengaluru vs East Bengal after red card is revoked

Bengaluru FC got a major boost in the Indian Super League as its appeal against the suspension of Braian Sanchez was successful, rendering him available for the next match against East Bengal.

Sanchez was shown a straight red card for violent conduct in Bengaluru’s previous match against Kerala Blasters in the 34th minute. The numerical disadvantage ultimately cost the Blue heavily as they lost at home to the Blasters for the first time.

“Following a review by the All India Football Federation’s Disciplinary Committee, the red card has been rescinded and changed to a yellow card,” the club said in a statement.

“The Club thanks the Committee for its consideration and due process in reviewing the incident.”

Sanchez joined Bengaluru this season and has been a regular in the midfield, and has played 11 times for the club, scoring three goals and assisting once.

Bengaluru is fifth in the standings after eight rounds in the truncated season of ISL 2025-26 and travels to Kolkata to face the Red-and-Gold Brigade, which is level on points but placed higher with a greater goal difference and having played one fewer match.
