SHIOCTON (WLUK) — The village of Shiocton is being evacuated as the waters of the Wolf River continue to rise.
The village president’s decree instructs all people in the village limits to evacuate by 3 p.m.
The Red Cross has set up an emergency shelter at the Black Creek Community Center, 507 S. Maple St.
“If you do not evacuate we will likely not be able to assist you,” the order says.

The village warns that the flooding is expected to get worse in the next few days.
According to the National Water Prediction Service, the Wolf River stage was 14.02 feet at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. The river is expected to rise to a crest of 15.1 feet on Friday morning. The record crest is 14.1 feet on April 1, 1992.
The National Weather Service says at 14.00 feet, water is about a foot below the bottom of the Highway 54 bridge. Flood waters begin spreading over parts of the village near the river, including River and Mills streets.
The village board is asking visitors not to travel to the area to look at the flooding conditions. Highway 76 is closed from Highway 54 to the south end of the village.
