Joe Hart has voiced his praise of the ‘Celtic Family’ after the club’s annual gala dinner in Manhattan.

The event, which took place at the end of last month in the name of the Celtic FC Foundation, drew the attendance of plenty of Hoops fans Stateside.

Hart was a guest of honour at the event alongside ex-Celtic forward Brian McClair. The evening was hosted by Hugo Stanley.

According to the club, it raised $360,000 for the Foundation’s charitable work in New York, Ireland, and Glasgow.

Joe Hart on Celtic family in New York

Hart wrote on Instagram on Saturday: “New York, you were something else.

“An honour to join the Celtic FC Foundation for the 2026 Gala Dinner and share a few stories from my time at Paradise.

“The Celtic family travels further than any I’ve known, and seeing that green and white fill a room in the middle of Manhattan tells you everything.

“Every pound raised goes back into the communities the Foundation works with every single day. Football for good, in the truest sense.

“Thanks for having me. Thanks for the welcome. And thanks to everyone who dug deep on the night…”

Celtic’s relevance in New York needs no explanation, with the city famed for its Irish diaspora. At one point, the city reportedly had more Irish residents than Dublin.

Hart refused to answer a question about Rangers in promotion of Soccer Aid this week, further proving his loyalty to Celtic.

Since retiring at the end of the 2023-24 season, Hart has moved into punditry, working on both English and Scottish football.

He has continued to make no apology for his affinity for Celtic, talking up the club among his English peers and helping convince Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to move to Glasgow.

Joe Hart and Ange Postecoglou’s first summer at Celtic

Looking back on Ange Postecoglou’s first summer transfer window, it really was one of the best in the club’s history.

The early headline signing was Kyogo Furuhashi, who arrived from Vissel Kobe and blew us all away instantly.

Carl Starfelt and Liel Abada were also in the door early, before Hart and Josip Juranovic also strengthened the starting eleven.

And how about this for a deadline day trio: Jota, Giorgos Giakoumamakis and Cameron Carter-Vickers. Looking at how our business has been in seasons since, you don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
