Now that Love Story has had its grisly finale, surely the discourse surrounding the show is also nearing its end. But Katie Couric had a few follow-up questions for the most publicly outraged member of the Kennedy clan, Jack Schlossberg. On her podcast, Next Question With Katie Couric, she asked Schlossberg if the show’s popularity could help him or his run for Congress. “I struggle to find a universe where someone taking advantage of my family is helping me,” he said. “I want to be clear that [I have] no problem with anyone who liked the show or watched it,” he added. “My issue is … to fictionalize and to sensationalize his romantic life without giving any credence to the serious things that he did.”

So Schlossberg’s main issue with the show is that it downplays the Kennedys’ history of politics, or what he calls a legacy “of public servants and standing up for people who have been marginalized” in favor of glitz and glamour and enviable outfits. But Schlossberg also has a problem with the outfits. “They had my dad dressed up in some plaid outfit. My dad’s the most stylish guy I’ve ever met,” he said. “People keep in mind it might be entertaining, but it’s fiction.” So, to recap: Love Story? Sensationalist. Edwin Schlossberg? Stylish. Plaid? Fugly.
