Police have put a cordon in place outside Kenton United Synagogue on Shaftesbury Avenue in Kenton.
The cordon was set up in the early hours on Sunday April 19, although the exact timing and reason have not been confirmed.
Forensics are currently at the scene.
Details about what has happened have not yet been released by police.
Officers remain at the synagogue while enquiries continue.
