PSL 11: Karachi Kings win toss, opt to field first against Multan Sultans

 

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Multan Sultans produced a strong batting performance, while Karachi Kings fought back with the ball in the 28th match of the Pakistan Super League Season 11 at the National Bank Stadium on Sunday.

After opting to bat first, Multan Sultans posted an impressive 207 for 7 in their 20 overs.

Karachi struck early when Khushdil Shah removed Steve Smith for a duck in the second over. Following the early setback, Awais Zafar and Josh Philippe steadied the innings with a solid partnership, taking the score past 50.

The pair added 66 runs before Khushdil broke the stand, dismissing Philippe for a quick 44 off 23 balls. Multan were 77-2 at that stage. Shan Masood then joined Awais Zafar, and together they pushed the total beyond 100.

Khushdil continued his impressive spell, removing Awais Zafar for 36. Soon after, Moeen Ali made an impact by dismissing Shan Masood, who scored a brisk 46, leaving the Sultans at 135-4.

Captain Ashton Turner and Arafat Minhas added useful runs, but Moeen struck again to remove Turner. Hasan Ali then dismissed Arafat Minhas as Multan slipped further.

In the final overs, Mohammad Imran provided a late surge with an unbeaten 26 off just eight balls.
