President Donald Trump described a recent DoorDash delivery to the oval office as “a little tacky.”
President Donald Trump is taking aim at Fox News commentator Jessica Tarlov after the TV host highlighted Trump’s low approval rating.
During an appearance on “The Five” on Thursday, April 16, Tarlov noted that Trump “has a 35% approval rating in most polls.”
“The guy has been in office twice,” Tarlov, 42, continued. “No Americans wanted the tariffs. They didn’t want the war in Iran, and they don’t want the ballroom.”
Tarlov, a political strategist for the Democratic Party, has become known for her outspoken liberal perspective on the conservative-leaning Fox network, which includes frequent criticisms of Trump and the Republican Party.
“I am watching one of the least attractive and talented people on all of television, Jessica Tarlov,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post Thursday. “Her voice is so grating and terrible, I had to turn her off!”
Trump also pushed back against Tarlov’s comment on his approval rating, saying the Fox News host’s “soundbites are FAKE.”
“She makes up poll numbers, and nobody challenges her because she is so boring,” Trump wrote. “I have among the best poll numbers I have ever had. … Get her off the air, she is bad for our country!”
USA TODAY has reached out to The White House, Fox News and representatives for Tarlov for comment.
President Trump currently has an approval rating of 37% and a disapproval rating of 62%, according to CNN’s Poll of Polls, which provides an average based on results from various major polls. CNN previously recorded Trump having a 35% approval rating in its own poll during the period of March 26 to March 30.
Tarlov doubled down on her argument in an X post Thursday night, which included a screenshot of Trump’s original Truth Social post.
“Guess I’ll take this opportunity to mention that my numbers are far from fake,” Tarlov wrote. “Trump really is that unpopular.”
