Dozens of first responders flood Valley Forge High School in Parma Heights

PARMA HEIGHTS, Ohio (WOIO) – A heavy police presence is at Valley Forge High School in Parma Heights on Monday afternoon for an incident that happened around dismissal.

Dozens of police cruisers and at least one ambulance surround the school.

According to the school district, at approximately 2:10 p.m. an incident involving a firearm occurred.

Law enforcement and fire personnel responded immediately and remain on site.

VFHS, located at 9999 Independence Blvd., is part of the Parma City School District.

The school said the situation is contained, and there is no ongoing threat to students or staff.

As part of safety protocols, the school is operating under heightened supervision, and students were evacuated to the designated reunification site at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C).

19 News has reached out to the Parma Heights Police Department and Parma City School District for information on what that incident is.
