Where does Syracuse lacrosse rank entering final week of regular season?

Syracuse, N.Y. —The Syracuse University men’s lacrosse team hangs in the Top 5 and has a matchup with the the top team in college lacrosse for the final week of the regular season.

SU holds at No. 5 in the latest Inside Lacrosse media poll following a 14-7 win over Colgate on Saturday.

SU senior attack Joey Spallina became Syracuse’s all-time leading scorer in the win.

He now has 313 career points and counting.

The Top 5 remains intact from last week with Notre Dame at No. 1 followed by Princeton, North Carolina and Richmond ahead of Syracuse.

No. 5 Syracuse (11-3) will close out the regular season at No.1 Notre Dame (9-1) on Saturday (12 p.m., ACC Network Extra).

SU has not won at Notre Dame since 2017, losing four straight games in South Bend.

The Irish are coming off a 7-6 win over Duke on Saturday.

Notre Dame not only tops the poll, it rests at No.1 in the NCAA RPI rankings.

Syracuse is No. 4 in the RPI, the key measurement the NCAA Selection Committee uses to determine the NCAA Tournament field.

The ACC does not have an automatic bid to the tournament so its members need to earn at-large bids.

With less than two weeks to go before Selection Sunday, the committee revealed its top 10 teams over the weekend.

Notre Dame (1) and Syracuse (4) mirrored its RPI rankings.

The ACC added North Carolina (3) and Virginia (10) to the Top 10.
