Jimmy Bullard is set to be stripped of part of his I’m A Celebrity…. Get Me Out of Here!: All Stars fee with the former Premier League footballer expected to miss Friday’s live final following a furious row with co-star Adam Thomas.
In explosive scenes airing on Tuesday night, the former Wigan Athletic and Fulham midfielder sparks an angry argument with Waterloo Road star Thomas during the day’s bushtucker trial, which involved fellow campmates Sinitta, Harry Redknapp and Ashley Roberts.
While the other famous faces tackle puzzles while covered in insects, bugs and dirts in the hope of winning stars for camp, Bullard is seen simply watching on, admitting “Boys, I don’t think I’ve got it in me.”
Presenters Ant and Dec urge the former footballer to carry on with the challenge for the sake of his teammate Thomas, but Bullard is then seen apologising to the actor and declaring: ““I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here”, causing the trial to be ended for everyone.
Bullard’s call also meant that the celebrities had to forfeit the stars they had won, and he is seen quickly apologising to his fellow campmates.
However, the 47-year-old is then approached by a furious Thomas, who comes face-to-face with him and says “Taking the f****** piss, are you taking the f****** piss?”
“Woah woah, you don’t have to say that,” responds Bullard. “Everyone’s got their own story.”
Thomas hits back: “I’m in there getting covered in f****** ants,” before the footballer tells the actor to “calm down” and describes his angry outburst as “pathetic”.
With the show pre-recorded in South Africa in September last year, it emerged shortly after filming wrapped that the two men had been involved in a furious row that had left the rest of the camp stunned.
Even though several months have passed, however, it has been reported that the pair are still not on speaking terms and have been unable to put their feud to bed.
After missing the All Stars press launch last month, Bullard is now set to boycott Friday night’s live final, with a source telling The Sun that the footballer says there is “no way” he will turn up, with there “no going back” with Thomas.
If Bullard does in fact miss the final, he is reportedly set to be stripped of 20 per cent of his show fee by ITV bosses, in accordance with the contract he signed before the series.
The exact fee he is receiving for appearing on the All Stars series remains unclear, but the former Soccer AM co-host is believed to have been paid up to £100,000 for his first stint on the show back in 2014.
He is one of 12 famous faces to have returned to the ITV series, with boxer David Haye, The Only Way is Essex star Gemma Collins and comedian Seann Walsh also among the cast.
TV personality Scarlett Moffatt, Olympic legend Sir Mo Farah, Red Dwarf actor Craig Charles and Coronation Street favourite Beverley Callard complete the show’s line-up.
