Trybus, who ran an IT company, told the jury that he travelled abroad frequently for work and was out of the country on the days of several of the allegations.
He also said he believed his wife had mental health issues due to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), having witnessed an armed carjacking incident in South Africa.
Katy Thorne KC, defending, said Trybus was “never abusive to his wife”, and Baird had made “demonstrably false allegations to health professionals”.
