The couple said they are considering making changes to their home with their winnings from the Postcode Lottery, or spending them on a holiday.
“It’s the first bit of luck we’ve had for a long time. Doctors told me they can’t cure me, but they can give me time,” said Lesley.
“After everything, for this to happen is just fantastic.”
She said she found out about her cancer when it showed up on a medical scan she had after an accident in her garden.
Lesley’s cancer is now inactive after sessions of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
“So far, they’ve given me time and that’s all I can really ask for,” she added.
Pamela said she was delighted for Lesley. “We’re so close and such good friends. It’s just nice that we can share it together,” she said.
