Skepta cleared of High Wycombe drug-driving charge

District Judge Arvind Sharma explained that the quantity of THC in the sample needed to meet the criminal standard in order to prosecute.
The expert could not be sure the “reading is accurate”, Sharma said.
PC Talan O’Neill, the Thames Valley Police officer who stopped the musician, said he had seen Adenuga overtaking a vehicle on the outside lane while travelling above the 30mph (48km/h) speed limit.
After he pulled over, the officer noticed a “smell of cannabis” in the rapper’s Mercedes-Maybach and conducted a roadside test at 10:54 GMT.
Prosecutor Lucy Curran said he was taken to a police station after the sample came back positive.
The court was told Adenuga, who lives in High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, was compliant throughout the process.
He was also accused of travelling at 37mph in a 30mph zone (59km/h in a 48km/h zone) in his Rolls-Royce Phantom on 20 November 2023, and failing to supply information to Thames Valley Police relating to the driver of the vehicle.
The judge also dismissed these matters, after Curran said the crown would not be offering further evidence.
