Why Giants selected Francis Mauigoa with No. 10 pick in 2026 NFL Draft

The New York Giants made their second first-round selection of the 2026 NFL Draft at pick 10, and the choice is Miami offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa.

Mauigoa is one of the top tackles in the draft, serving as a key piece to Miami’s 2025 team that appeared in the National Championship.

With New York taking pass rusher Arvell Reese with the No. 5 pick, general manager Joe Schoen made it a priority to emphasize the trenches.

Mauigoa played right tackle for his entire college career and will do the same in the NFL.

The 20-year-old will compete for the starting spot at the position with Jermaine Eluemunor and should eventually replace Eluemunor.

Mauigoa allowed just two sacks and nine quarterback pressures last season, and is also a dominant run-blocker. The Giants’ tackle play should be rock-solid moving forward.
