Savannah Bananas return to Yankee Stadium for baseball fun this weekend

Banana ball is coming back to one of baseball’s most iconic venues.
Yankee Stadium is hosting the Savannah Bananas in the Bronx on Saturday and Sunday to play in front of what’s expected to be a sold-out crowd.
The Bananas are facing off against the Party Animals in the two games. The first starts at 7 pm ET on Saturday and the second at 3 pm on Sunday. Tickets to both contests are already sold out on the official team website, with resale options available for around $50 and up on secondary marketplaces.
This will be the Bananas’ second appearance at Yankee Stadium following a two-game series last year against the Firefighters. The two teams split those games, drawing a sellout crowd of more than 45,000 fans.
Banana Ball has grown exponentially over the last few years and has become a cultural phenomenon popular across the country. Jesse and Emily Cole started the team in 2016 and have focused on delivering the best game-day experience. That clear goal has paid dividends, especially as traditional professional sporting experiences have become increasingly expensive.
There are now six teams in the Banana Ball universe. The league will play in 45 states and 75 stadiums this year as it travels across the United States, culminating in the championship in October.
There are some key differences between Banana Ball and the baseball you’ll see played in MLB. The score uses points, not runs, and teams earn one point by scoring the most runs in an inning, except for the last inning, where every run counts as one point. There are also no walks or bunts, a two-hour maximum on the game after which a new inning cannot start, and fly balls caught by fans are outs.
At the start of this year, the organization published its first Fan First Report, which detailed some of the numbers behind the beast. In 2025, they sold 2.2 million tickets, and that number should only continue to grow. They’re now selling out football stadiums and attracting more than 80,000 people for some games.
Social media has been a major engine of Banana Ball’s growth. The Savannah Banana Instagram account alone has more than 4 million followers, and across the league and all teams, they have more than 10 million followers.
