Fox News’ The Five descended into chaos when the panel began squabbling over the true motives behind President Donald Trump’s political decisions, leaving viewers divided

Fox News viewers are gunning for Greg Gutfeld after he took it upon himself to defend President Donald Trump’s actions
During the Thursday (April 17) installment of the network’s conservative political talk show, The Five, the panel consisting of Jesse Watters, Greg Gutfeld, Jessica Tarlov, and Kellyanne Conway discussed the latest current affairs, including President Donald Trump’s controversial moves,
The debate kicked off during a discussion on former Vice President Kamala Harris speaking out on President Trump, which prompted Conway to assert, “Trump got elected on—” before getting interrupted by political strategist for the Democratic Party, Tarlov. It comes as President Trump demanded that Tarlov be axed from Fox News.

Tarlov asked, “And what do people think of him now? He has a 35% approval rating in most polls,” before Gutfeld then jumped in, pointing out, “He’s not a politician.”
To which Tarlov argued, “Yes, he is. Stop saying he’s just the host of The Apprentice who came to save us. He’s been in office twice,” referring to the 79-year-old leader.

As the pair squabbled over Trump, Watters stared blankly at the camera before attempting to hold a laugh in. Gutfeld then pushed back, “You can’t understand Trump because his political decisions align with his personal and patriotic ones.”
“Personal? Like his own bank account?” Tarlov questioned as Gutfeld ranted on, blasting, “You understand Gavin, you understand Biden, because their political decisions are divorced from the things people want,” referring to Gavin Newsom and former President Joe Biden.
“Why are you on the 20 of every 80 20 issue is because you divorced political desires from human needs, and then you have to dress up your decisions as compassion when they’re merely wants from an activist class.
“The thing about Trump is, I don’t care whether you like him or hate him, you’re suffering from the Trump America alignment problem, political, personal and patriotic desires all stack up, which means what he wants, the country tends to want, ” Gutfeld continued./
“If it’s 80 20, he’s on the 80. You’re stuck on the 20. Your defenses are getting more and more narrow because you say, we keep saying the same thing every day. It’s because we have to, because you don’t listen-“

Tarlov then interrupted, “All I hear in my head is your voice,” prompting Gutfeld to tease, “You’re lucky,” as she rolled her eyes. “The tariffs, they didn’t want the war in Iran. They don’t want them all.”
Gutfeld then began to antagonize his co-star, asking, “What do you got? What do you got? What you have on your side. It is a carnival atrocity,” with Tarlov concluding, “I can’t wait for elections.”
The heated debate was shared on X, where fans were quick to weigh in. One user pointed out, “He said nothing at all lmao. They were just rage-baiting her.”
A second user argued, “Jessica really said he’s been in office twice like that’s a gotcha Gutfeld nailed it, Trump’s decisions line up with what he actually believes not just chasing approval. Low polls. Media’s been saying that for 10 years and he keeps winning.”
“@CNN must be sick watching how @JessicaTarlov handles herself among all the maga around her. Her cohosts can only sit and listen because she is always factual with no untruth opinions, while cnn has @ScottJenningsKY who never speaks facts and is just a rage baiter,” a third penned.

A fourth viewer predicted, “She won’t be on there long. Sad, real journalism isn’t allowed anymore, kellyanne just smiling like a deer in headlights. Huhhh.”
Others took aim at Gutfeld, slamming, “Gutfeld: You can’t understand Trump because his political decisions align with his personal and patriotic ones. Just a MAGA moron admitting Trump puts himself above America.
“The President should have ZERO personal agendas. He is supposed to work ‘for the people,'” they added. Someone else commented, “I wonder if Jessie, Greg, and now Kellyanne understand how stupid they sound.
“I wonder what they’ll say after the Nov elections when Democrats control the House and the Senate. These people live in an alternate reality.”
