Taking country music to new heights
Describing Combs as a country megastar isn’t an exaggeration. The “Beer Never Broke My Heart” singer consistently breaks records and pushes the boundaries of what country artists can accomplish.
At 36 years old, Combs has already released four RIAA Diamond-certified singles and taken home 11 Country Music Awards, four Academy of Country Music Awards and six Billboard Music Awards.
If that’s not enough to earn him mainstream recognition, Combs also made history as the first country artist with two songs to hit 1 billion streams on Spotify – “Beautiful Crazy” and “When It Rains It Pours.”
Learn those new lyrics now
The “My Kinda Saturday Night” tour’s arrival in Columbus couldn’t have been timed better. Combs’ latest 22-song album, “The Way I Am,” dropped March 20, giving fans just over a month to learn the lyrics before belting them out in the crowd.
The tour is named for the album’s lead single, and concertgoers can expect to hear plenty of other new tracks throughout the show alongside old favorites. Enduring hits like “Hurricane,” “Beautiful Crazy,” “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma,” and Combs’ celebrated cover of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car” are likely to keep fans on their feet from opening to encore.
In the end, it’s all for the fans
Known for connecting with fans frequently via social media, Combs posted a handwritten thank-you note to his supporters the day of his latest album’s release. Despite the country star’s rapid rise to superstar status, he clearly hasn’t forgotten the fans that got him here.
“This [past] year has been awesome,” Combs said in a press release for the tour. “We’ve gotten to play some of the most iconic festivals in the world and promote country music in ways that it normally isn’t. That said, while the festivals are awesome, there’s nothing like a headline show on a full tour with all of my fans. It’s hard to beat!”
