The two acts that made it through the first Britain’s Got Talent 2026 semi-final

After many weeks of auditions, a select number of acts have made it through to the next stage.
Acts will have to perform live in front of a crowd at the London Apollo to see if they can secure enough public votes to make it through to the final, or receive the singular golden buzzer allowed in an episode to go straight in.
Tonight’s semi-final included dog performer Anastasiia and her pet Salsa, magician Fraser Penman, singer Matty Juniosa and aerial performer Paul Nunnari.
Additionally, acrobatic quartet The Rafikiz, dance group Celtic Beat, comedian and rapper Christy Coysh and drummer Nancy Tilley took part.
Who made it through the first BGT semi-final?
Singer Matty Juniosa was the first act through to the final, as he was awarded a golden buzzer from Amanda Holden.
The 27-year-old had been awarded a golden buzzer by Simon Cowell in the audition stage to get through automatically to the semi-finals, and he was the beneficiary of it again.
Juniosa had been the last act to perform on the night, with Amanda revealing that if she had not used her golden buzzer, it would have gone to the audience.
However, that wasn’t needed as she felt Matty deserved a spot in the final.
There was one spot left to fill after that, which would be decided by who received the most votes from the public.
Anastasiia and her dog, Salsa, won the public vote for their dancing routine, with Christy Coysh coming runner-up for his comedic song about scotch eggs.
How many semi-finals are there for BGT 2026?
Including tonight’s episode (broadcast on Saturday, April 25), there will be five live semi-finals for the 2026 series of Britain’s Got Talent.
They will air every Saturday, apart from the fourth semi-final, which will air on Sunday, May 17, due to the Eurovision Song Contest taking place the day before.
