Thousands without power in Halifax due to ‘transmission interruption’

Nearly 8,000 Nova Scotia power customers in Halifax are in the dark at this hour.

According to the utility’s outage map, the cause is being called due to “transmission interruption.”

The map showing the outage ranges nearly all of downtown from Spring Garden to the North End and extending to Dunbrack Street in Fairview.

Nova Scotia Power says restoration time is estimated to be 1:15 pm today.
