The Sheep Detectives premieres on May 8

In this new murder mystery movie, there’s a group of unlikely heroes: a flock of sheep.

The Sheep Detectives is about a flock of sheep who try to solve the case of their shepherd’s killing. As the sheep search for clues, they learn that there’s often more than meets the eye.

Hugh Jackman stars in the movie as the shepherd.

You might recognize him from his roles as Wolverine from the X-Men film franchise or as P.T. Barnum from The Greatest Showman.

The Sheep Detectives is rated PG and hits Canadian theatres on May 8.

Ahead of the movie’s release, we spoke with Jackman.

CBC Kids News contributor Ainara Alleyne asked him what sort of lessons kids can take from the movie.

Plus, she challenged Jackman to tap into his own inner detective and tell us how he’d solve a mystery of our own.
