Megan Thee Stallion’s breakup from Klay Thompson sites rocky history

Last summer, Megan Thee Stallion gushed over her good fortune in finding love with Klay Thompson as she and the former Golden State Warriors superstar made their red carpet debut at a society gala in New York City.
“I have never dated somebody so kind,” the 31-year-old rap queen gushed to Page Six about the four-time NBA champion who currently plays with the Dallas Mavericks. “This is my first relationship where I’ve ever been with somebody who’s genuinely a nice person, and he makes me genuinely happy.”
But over the past weekend, Megan announced that she had ended her romance with Thompson, 36, in a series of scathing comments on social media and to Page Six, in which she accused him of cheating and getting “cold feet” during their one-year relationship.

“I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay,” Megan said in a statement to Page Six and TMZ. “Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward.”
The “Savage” musician was less polite on Instagram Story, describing a certain degree of mistreatment due to his “mood swings.”
“Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season,” she wrote. “Now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous???? I need a REAL break after this one… bye y’all.”
Sadly for Megan, some people might say she should have known better than to expect Thompson to change his long-rumored cheating ways. But if nothing else, her comments about the former Warriors star have spotlighted what could be a certain dark truth about him being an alleged serial cheater.
Thompson certainly is one the most talented people to ever play professional basketball, and he’s still beloved by Warriors fans for his legendary backcourt teaming with Steph Curry during his 13 years of playing in the Bay Area. But he also has developed an alleged history when it comes to his personal life. Some may say — even with admiration — that he’s truly been a “player” in both sports and in his private life.
But others, certainly Megan and the Hotties, her notoriously protective fan base, see something more sinister at work. According to The Blast, the Hotties have even gone online to announce plans to hire witches via Etsy to put a hex on Thompson, with one response to a viral post saying, “That ACL will be torn by tomorrow.”
According to a Page Six roundup of Thompson’s dating history, at least three of the four romances he had with high-profile women ended because of his alleged infidelity. Meanwhile, a fifth woman, WNBA star Lexie Brown, has been pulled into Thompson’s drama with the “Mamushi” singer, Page Six also reported. The Seattle Storm player had to go on social media to deny allegations that she was the woman who broke up the rapper’s relationship with Thompson.
“I’ve seen what’s being said online, and I want to be clear, none of it is true, and I have no involvement in this situation,” Brown wrote on her Instagram Stories Sunday.

Thompson’s first high-profile romance ended in 2015 after he was accused of cheating, Page Six reported. The romance was with YouTuber Hannah Stocking, whom he began dating in 2014. She went on Twitter to make some pretty sensational allegations after their breakup, the Daily Mail reported at the time. “When you catch ur man naked in bed with a groupie…. lol @KlayThompson,” Stocking tweeted, then deleted at the time, as the Daily Mail reported. Thompson never responded to these cheating allegations.
Several years later, in 2018, Thompson began dating Laura Harrier, the former model and actor best known for co-starring in “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” She’s currently playing pioneering Motown executive Suzanne de Passe in the hit Michael Jackson biopic, “Michael.”
Harrier’s relationship with Thompson seemed to get pretty serious, with Harrier often seen courtside supporting Thompson at Warriors games, Page Six said. They also appeared on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in February 2020.
But sometime later that year, the relationship fizzled out, Page Six reported. The reason? Neither said but they stopped following each other on Instagram, as rumors surfaced that Thompson had cheated on Harrier after a woman posted a video in May, claiming she and her friends spent time with him, according to SportsGossip.com.

Also, during Thompson’s romance with Harrier, he took some time to go on at least one date with “Baby Driver” actor Eiza González, according to Page Six. TMZ reported in 2019 that Thompson and the actor shared a private table in the back of a West Hollywood restaurant, though they were spotted leaving the restaurant separately. Whatever happened, that romance also fizzled, and Thompson was seen with Harrier again at a Dodgers game two months later.
Prior to dating Megan Thee Stallion, Thompson spent time with singer and actor Coco Jones from around 2021 to 2023, though the two mostly kept their romance out of the spotlight, Page Six reported.

Over the weekend, pages from a diary also began surfacing on Reddit and elsewhere online, according to the International Business Times. Anonymous posts from someone claiming to be Thompson’s ex-girlfriend shared the pages and said they date back to 2018 and 2019. In the hand-written pages, with smudged lettering, the writer describes a lavish, fast-moving lifestyle, with reflections on self-improvement, fame and off-court behavior, including relationships.
Meanwhile, if there’s any consolation for Megan, her fans have shown their love and support. As the Daily Mail reported, she received a standing ovation at her Broadway show Saturday night. While closing “Moulin Rouge on Broadway,” the “Savage” singer was seen wiping away tears as her audience stood and applauded, according to footage shared online by fans.
