Just one day after Adidas’ new super shoe led three runners in the London Marathon to historic highs, the sneaker is already trading for thousands on the resale market.

The $500 Adidas Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3, which was worn by the race’s men’s winner Sabastian Sawe and women’s winner Tigist Assefa, was released Monday via the brand’s Confirmed app but is reaching upward of $5,500 on StockX in larger sizes, with the lowest bid going for $1,671 for a men’s size 8. The average resale asking price for the shoe on StockX is currently $2,627.

As of Monday afternoon, the shoe was yet to sell for the steep asking price. The highest sale on StockX so far for the shoe was $1,855. Other purchases went for $957, $800, $750 and as low as $417.

Even before the momentous marathon moment, searches for the Adizero franchise have grown significantly on the platform. According to StockX, the platform saw nearly 50,000 searches containing the term “Adizero” in the first quarter of 2026. What’s more, StockX noted that the top five Adidas models searched on the platform in the first quarter were the Samba, Spezial, Superstar, Adizero and Campus.

“What stands out here is that a performance running shoe — at a relatively high price point — is competing from a search-demand perspective with some of Adidas’ most iconic lifestyle models on the platform,” Brendan Dunne, senior director of customer community and engagement at StockX, told WWD and FN.

The Adidas Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3 debuted for the first time in London. At the race, Sawe set a new record of 1:59:30, while Assefa also set a new record for women at 2:15:41. Second place men’s finisher Yomif Kejelcha, who also wore the shoe, finished at 1:59:41.

Revealed last week, the super shoe weighs just 97 grams for a men’s size 9.5 and improves running economy by 1.6 percent compared to the Pro Evo 2. Most of the reduction comes via a new Lightstrike Pro Evo foam compound that’s 50 percent lighter than its predecessors, and designers took inspiration from kitesurfing sails to create a feathery woven upper.

The new Adidas Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3 is an evolution of the first and second models of the shoe. Since launching in April 2025, the Adizero Adios Pro Evo has helped Adidas athletes break three world records and win over 30 key road races which includes six World Marathon Major wins, seven national records, five course records and one Olympic record time.

Adidas brought the series forward with a remarkable 30 percent weight reduction, resulting in the brand’s first running shoe to go sub-100 grams and the lightest race-legal model in the industry.
