It’s been 20 days since the transfer portal opened. Tennessee basketball has added six transfers since its season ended and now has three scholarships to work with as it builds its roster for next season.

The Vols’ top transfer target is still available as Wake Forest guard Juke Harris remains uncommitted. Harris is down to a top three including Michigan, North Carolina and Tennessee. But a decision could be coming before long for Harris.

College sports insider Chris Low said on the RTI Low Down Podcast Sunday night, that his intel points to Harris committing to Tennessee sometime this week.

“You never say never, but all my intel says this week that Juke Harris will pull the trigger and come to Tennessee,” Low said. “I know his mom is a big fan of the program, a big fan of Rick Barnes. Tennessee was right there in it out of high school.”

Harris is coming off a sophomore season where he averaged 21.4 points on 44.4% shooting from the field and 33.3% shooting from three-point range at Wake Forest. The Salisbury, North Carolina native made 87 three-pointers during the 2025-26 season.

Tennessee finished runner-up for Harris out of high school when the 6-foot-7 guard committed to Wake Forest. But Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes has built a strong relationship with Harris and his mother.

The defending national champion Michigan is Tennessee’s top competition to land Harris. One of the top players in the portal, Harris has slow played a decision while he goes through the NBA Draft process. But barring a change in plans, Low believes Harris will pull the trigger for Tennessee this week.

“In this era, you never say anything is a lock because someone could always drop ‘what if we pay him $5 or $6 million,” Low said. “In fact, I think probably to your point, that Michigan has probably been in Juke Harris’ ear telling him, ‘hey, (Nate) Ament is coming back so you might want to rethink that decision.’ Well we know that isn’t happening now. So I think, unless there’s a big snag or curveball at the end, I think Juke Harris will be a Tennessee Vol and we’ll probably hear something this week.”

A Second Team All-SEC selection a season ago, Harris scored 20-plus points in 20 games last season and scored 30-plus points against NC State, Boston College and Cal. Harris also added 6.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.3 steals per game. He ranked in the top 400 nationally with a 17.6% defensive rebound rate and a 10% turnover rate.

Tennessee basketball has landed six transfers to date including VCU combo guard Terrence Hill Jr, Cal combo guard Dai Dai Ames, Belmont sharpshooter Tyler Lundblade, Notre Dame wing Jalen Haralson, Kennesaw State forward Braedan Lue and Loyola (Chicago) center Miles Rubin.
