Fans of All Creatures Great and Small were delighted earlier this month when actor Samuel West made his return to television screens.
Although the Channel 5 star appeared in a rather different capacity, showing up as himself alongside his close friend Adrian Edmondson.
The pair have ventured through some of the UK’s most stunning nature reserves as they set off on a birdwatching adventure. However, the three-part series is drawing to a close this week (April 28) as the final episode takes viewers to the Somerset Levels.
Samuel and Adrian will be on the hunt for a bittern, a bird that has been described as Britain’s loudest and possibly most mysterious, reports the Express.

While it remains unclear whether a second series of Sam & Ade Go Birding will be commissioned, fans are keeping their fingers crossed, given the enormous praise the three-part run has garnered.
Sharing his thoughts on the response, Samuel West wrote on X: “Thanks for all your kind comments about the series so far. It was a joy to make, and it’s good to know so many people are finding it fun and useful. Positive thoughts for continued life.”

As the brief series draws to a conclusion, Channel 5 has revealed what will be filling its slot the following week. Next Tuesday (May 5), viewers will be treated to a brand-new series of Reuben: Life in the Dales as the 22-year-old returns alongside his friends, family and girlfriend Jess.
A synopsis for the upcoming episode reads: “It’s the height of summer, and Reuben and the team are building a brand-new sheep pen for a local farmer.
“But when sinking a gate post proves trickier than expected the young boss, his girlfriend Jess, and workmates Capper Sonny are left scratching their heads. Meanwhile, Reuben’s younger brothers Miles and Sidney sweat it out on an arduous sheep shearing course.
