Ready for ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2?’ Where to watch the original film

Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep on protecting journalism
Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep discuss why “The Devil Wears Prada 2” storyline is important to protecting journalism and where they donated to.
A “The Devil Wears Prada” rewatch might be in order.
With the release of the long-awaited sequel, in theaters May 1, it could be time to revisit the iconic story and characters of the “2006 phenomenon that defined a generation,” at least according to 20th Century Studios.
Inspired by Lauren Weisberger’s famed novel, the original “Devil Wears Prada” traces the life (and career trajectory) of Andrea “Andy” Sachs (Anne Hathaway), a scrappy and young journalist-turned fashion-forward Runway assistant.
From the industry-obsessed Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt) to Runway diehard Nigel (Stanley Tucci), Sachs met some interesting characters while working for the Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), an Anna Wintour-esque boss whose ice queen persona melts over the course of the film.
Andy eventually decides to quit, fearing she’s lost herself after quickly getting swept up in the high-fashion business.
The sequel, set 20 years into the future, sees the cunning, if effective pair take a valiant last stand for print media against the rapidly changing tides of AI and monetized digital content.
“Miranda Priestly struggles against Emily Charlton, her former assistant turned rival executive, as they compete for advertising revenue amid declining print media [as] Miranda nears retirement,” a description of the “Devil Wears Prada 2” reads.
Here’s everything we know about the sequel, including where to stream the original “The Devil Wears Prada.”
