White Sox’ game vs. Angels estimated to start at 9:40 p.m.

The White Sox estimated that the game Monday night at Rate Field against the Angels will start at 9:40 p.m. after a storm swept through the area. First pitch originally was scheduled for 6:40 p.m.

After heavy rains this afternoon, the grounds crew removed the tarp at around 2 p.m., and both teams went through batting and fielding practice. The Sox also held a Dog Day parade around the warning track.

But after 6 p.m., the Sox announced the start of the game would be delayed because of an incoming storm. They estimated that the rain would clear after 8 p.m.

More than half the Sox’ runs have come via the long ball early in the season, but they’re still thinking small, too.
