Class is a home run if you include Wicks and Greenard. Without them it’s kinda weak. But’s thats only because Howie had to trade so many picks to get the players he wanted. 5 total picks (3 this year 2 next year) for just lemon and Wicks. then a 3rd rounder for Greenard. Which I do believe was smart Wicks and Greenard will impact the team much more that a late 3rd and mid 5th would. It also keeps us competing this year while still having eyes on the future.
Lemon was a great pick.
Stowers could be a great pick if they use him the right way. It’s gonna take time for him to become a inline TE. Played 70% in the slot. Only 3 years as a TE. So much upside. I hope we don’t regret not selecting EMW.
Markel Bell I’m on record not liking this pick. The man is a giant but does not play like it. There is no nasty to his game. I don’t see him firing out his stance and popping people, powerful hand punch, finishing, putting defenders in the dirt. This concerns me because i don’t know if that inner demon to want to dominate people could be taught. I saw the same things with Myles Hinton last year. Giant man good athleticism but not bullying people the way he should for a man his size. I got a lot of hate for not liking this pick because you know if you don’t love everything the Eagles do your a stupid bad fan. I was told only 1st round picks have those qualities but turn on the tape of Jaeden Roberts a UDFA and you see some of those traits. It’s just my opinion you don’t have to agree with me but you don’t have to be rude either. I see his ceiling as a swing tackle but to honest I see King Dunlap 2.0.
Not only did I not like the pick and believe he was a reach. I thought they missed a great opportunity to trade down and grab a 4th or early 5th we had to wait 110 picks till we picked again brutal.
Cole Payton in the late 5th was good value. He has some exciting traits and you never know if a QB develop into something special. But likely a pick that never amounts to nothing. Kilgore was take 11 picks before just killed me. No doubt in my mind he would have been a day 1 starter and to think of the packages Vic could have run with him DeJean and Mukuba who all have slot experience. Another reason we should have traded down in the 3rd.
Micah Morris was a fav pick of mine just unbelievable size and athletic ability almost a perfect RAS. And the scouting reports are all very kind. So why did he fall? From what I gather even though he’s so athletic he dosent always play like it and conditioning issues. I just think he needs some coaching and experience. Starter upside.
Cole Wisniewski is a good pick. The safeties were wiped out at this point but he’s got some talent. Howie compared him to Blankenship for just being a good football player that developed. Maybe the same can happen for Cole.
Uar!! This is a fun pick I can’t wait to watch him develop. Unbelievable human. Just don’t know what’s gonna happen when the pads come on and he has to smash into NFL athletes every play. Jordan Mailata didnt play until his 3rd year and thats probably best case for Uar. but if he does develop look out.
KJN is solid value. Has produced every where he’s been and keeps getting better. That stats are really good. 3rd most pressure rate in the draft but just a average athlete. Similar to APR last year who had great stats but he didnt make it out TC. KJN has a tall task with so many edges in front of him right now but I hope me makes it.
We got a couple exciting UDFA’s as well. Just my Favorites Jaeden Roberts, Da’Quan Wright, Deontae lawson, Kapena Gushiken.
Howie didnt nail the mid rounds last year Ty Robinson, Kyle McCord, Mac McWilliams, Hinton, Cam Williams, APR. I worry if he nailed it this year. I still have high hopes for Cam Williams, Mondon, and Ty. That’s just my opinion on this years draft. Ive been right a lot Ive been wrong a lot just like everybody else take it for what’s it worth.
