Lady Vols basketball has added another forward to its roster for the 2026-27 season with the ability to hit shots from range. This time, it’s West Virginia forward Riley Makalusky committing to Tennessee, she announced on Wednesday.
Makalusky just completed her first year with the Mountaineers. It was the 6-foot-2 forward’s junior campaign, giving her one season of eligibility to use with the Lady Vols.
On the season, Makalusky played in 38 games and started in one. In an average of 13.9 minutes per outing, she averaged 4.4 points per game on 42% shooting from the field and 43.2% from three. She also posted 1.9 rebounds and 0.4 assists per outing.

Prior to her time at West Virginia, Makalusky played two years at Butler. As a sophomore, she averaged 8.1 points and 2.8 rebounds per game, while scoring in double figures 13 times. As a freshman, she was named to the Big East All-Freshman Team while averaging 6.7 points and 2.2 rebounds. On 77 3-point attempts, she made 46.1%, marking the highest in the conference.
Makalusky is from Fishers, Indiana. She played for Hamilton Southern, where she was named an Indiana All-Star during her junior and senior years of high school.
This now marks 13 commitments for the Lady Vols through the transfer portal. Combined with the retention of four-star incoming freshman signee Gabby Minus and international class of 2026 signee Irene Oboavwoduo, this makes 15 players rostered for next season. That completely fills the roster for next season, with no room for any further additions.
Also on their way to Rocky Top through the transfer portal includes Liberty guard Avery Mills, Northern Arizona guard Naomi White, Stanford forward Harper Peterson, Georgia forward Zhen Craft and guard Rylie Theuerkauf, Auburn guard Harissoum Coulibaly, Texas A&M forward Fatmata Janneh, Maryland guard Kaylene Smikle, Penn State guard Shaelyn Steele, Seton Hall guard Jada Eads, Texas forward Aaliyah Moore and East Carolina guard Kennedy Fauntleroy.
