Mystery shutdown snarls West Palm traffic as officials warn drivers to detour

Drivers in West Palm Beach are advised to avoid Okeechobee Boulevard at Parker Avenue this Thursday as police investigate an unattended vehicle

The West Palm Beach Police Department told CBS12 News that officers are investigating an unattended vehicle in the 1000 block of Parker Avenue.

Drivers in West Palm Beach are being urged to steer clear of Okeechobee Boulevard and Parker Avenue on Thursday morning due to a closure that is disrupting traffic flow in the area. (WPEC)

According to police, the renter of the vehicle was located and is on their way to the vehicle.

The Police Department stated that they are sweeping the vehicle out of an abundance of caution.

Officials have suggested using Belvedere Road or Southern Boulevard if you’re traveling South of Okeechobee Boulevard.

Additionally, if you are traveling north of Okeechobee Boulevard, use Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard.
