Police raid homes over Middlesbrough v Millwall station clash

Twelve men have been arrested for violent disorder after a clash following the recent football match between Middlesbrough and Millwall.

Cleveland Police said violence broke out at Middlesbrough railway station after the game on 3 April, involving several opposing supporters fighting, with two men arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

Ten more men were arrested earlier in police raids on 11 properties across Teesside, in Ingleby Barwick, Thornaby, Middlesbrough and Stockton.

Ch Supt Martin Hopps said the arrests showed “robust action” and a commitment to ensuring members of the public were safe, before, during and after the matches.
