Hawaii Health & Harm Reduction Center expands to Kauai

LIHUE (HawaiiNewsNow) – The Hawaii Health and Harm Reduction Center, also known as H3RC, is expanding to Kauai.

To mark the occasion, H3RC will host a soft launch on Friday, May 1, and a larger community open house and grand opening celebration on Friday, June 5.

The grand opening will take place from 2 to 5 p.m., at its new office in Lihue.

The community is invited to attend and can RSVP here.

The center is located at 4370 Kukui Grove St., Suite 114, in Lihue.

Malama Pono Health Services served Kauai for more than 40 years as a trusted provider of HIV and sexual health services.

Following its closure in January of 2026, H3RC has been working with the state Department of Health and community partners to support those with HIV on Kauai.

“Malama Pono has been a cornerstone of care and advocacy on Kauai for decades,” said H3RC Executive Director Heather Lusk. “We are honored to continue that legacy and remain committed to ensuring that people on Kauai have access to the care and support they need without interruption.”

H3RC will provide the following services on Kauai, with plans to expand.

  • Medical case management for people living with HIV
  • Gender-affirming care and peer support, including telehealth access
  • HIV, STI, and hepatitis C testing and linkage to care
  • Care coordination and referrals to health and social services
