Snowbird Resort, Utah, announced today that it will wrap up its 2025–26 winter season on Sunday, May 10, extending skiing and snowboarding in Utah well into May.
Lift-served skiing will pause during the week, with the mountain closed Monday through Friday before reopening for a final weekend on May 9 and 10. Operations are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with specific terrain offerings to be confirmed closer to the closing date.
While ski operations are suspended midweek, the resort’s Aerial Tram will continue to run for scenic rides from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering access to Hidden Peak and panoramic views over Little Cottonwood Canyon. “While Mother Nature definitely kept us on our toes this year, our teams have worked some serious magic to keep the season going,” said Jake Treadwell, senior director of mountain operations. “This is a huge win for everyone who enjoys late-season skiing and wants to extend winter as long as possible.”

The resort will mark its closing weekend with Plazapalooza, a two-day event on the Snowbird Center Plaza Deck featuring live music, food, and activities. The final day of the season will also coincide with Mother’s Day, with brunch service planned at The Aerie, the resort’s mountaintop restaurant.
Spring conditions remain in place, with lifts including the Aerial Tram, Peruvian Express, Mineral Basin, and Little Cloud operating through the first weekend of May. The resort advises skiers and snowboarders to remain cautious as conditions evolve, noting the potential for variable snow surfaces and unmarked hazards typical of late-season skiing.
Located in Little Cottonwood Canyon, Snowbird is known for its long seasons and high-altitude terrain, often remaining open later than most ski areas in North America. The May 10 closing date continues that trend, capping another extended season in the Wasatch Mountains.
