Much of Sault Ste. Marie and Prince Township went dark just before 11 a.m. as multiple power outages struck PUC’s grid.
PUC says there are four outages impacting a total of 34,065 customers.
The cause of the outage is unknown.
“We’re aware of the outage and we’re currently investigating,” said Jairus Patterson, manager of communications and customer relations at PUC.
SooToday has heard reports that the outage does not impact the entire city.
Patterson said PUC will provide updates on the outage as they become available.
