Celebrate Princess Charlotte’s 11th birthday with 54 photos of her royal life

Charlotte also holds the honour of being the first female royal to retain her place in the succession order following the birth of a younger brother. This is thanks to legislation that was brought in ahead of the birth of Prince George that would have allowed for either a boy or a girl to follow in William’s footsteps. Princess Charlotte is third in line to the throne following her father and brother.
Like her brothers, Princess Charlotte spent her earliest years at the family’s London home of Kensington Palace. As the children grew up, however, William and Catherine decided to relocate the family to the royal estate in Windsor. The family live at Forest Lodge after leaving their previous residence of Adelaide Cottage earlier this year.

Since 2022, all three Wales children have been enrolled at Lambrook School in Berkshire. All eyes are on the Prince and Princess of Wales this academic year, however, as royal watchers wait to see where William and Catherine will send Prince George for his secondary education (and whether Princess Charlotte will follow). The Prince and Princess are understandably fiercely protective over their children’s privacy. However, it is known that Charlotte is a fan of Taylor Swift (a photo of William and the children posing with the American pop star is iconic) and is known to be passionate about sports including rugby, football and gymnastics.
What might the future hold? Only time will tell. For now, celebrate Princess Charlotte’s birthday by rediscovering her life in pictures…
