Frank Lampard agrees with former Coventry City boss Gordon Strachan that his young squad could benefit from a big name signing with proven Premier League experience.
Strachan recently pointed to the example of Granit Xhaka’s influence at Sunderland in helping them get a foothold back in the top flight following their promotion last season, while also citing the presence of players like Jordan Henderson at Brentford.
The one-time City boss, now 69, recalled his own playing days when he’d be standing in the tunnel at Old Trafford and looking across at Bryan Robson and thinking, ‘thank goodness you’re here’.
