LeBron James’ confession about resemblance to Will Anderson Jr.: “Savannah and I have kept it a secret”

LeBron James had just powered the Los Angeles Lakers into the next round, but one of the night’s most memorable moments had little to do with the scoreboard.

It came midway through Game 6, when James hit the floor after a hard foul and was helped up by Houston Texans star Will Anderson Jr., the NFL pass rusher fans have long joked looks like he belongs in the James family.

The timing could not have been better. The Lakers were in Houston, Anderson was courtside, and the internet’s favorite lookalike comparison suddenly had a real-life moment to work with.

After Los Angeles finished off the Rockets with a 98-78 win, James was asked about the exchange and delivered one of the funniest answers of the postseason.

“The moment was pretty cool,” James told Houston Chronicle reporter Jonathan M. Alexander. “It was good to see him. That’s my fourth child.

“Him and Bronny are twins and don’t nobody know it. Me and Savannah have been trying to keep it under wraps for a long time.”

The resemblance between James, Bronny James and Anderson has been a running joke among fans since Anderson entered the NFL with the Texans.

It’s not based on anything deeper than facial similarities and social media humor, but James showed he is fully aware of the conversation.

He quickly made clear there was no disrespect intended toward Anderson’s family, pivoting from the joke to genuine praise.

“No disrespect to his parents,” James said. “I didn’t start it. Unbelievable football player, deserving of everything that he’s got. It was definitely dope to see him.”

Anderson has previously been asked about comparisons to Bronny, but the Texans standout has not seemed convinced.

“I don’t look like him, though,” Anderson said with a laugh when the comparison was brought up previously.

Fans clearly disagree. And after Anderson helped James off the floor during a playoff game in Houston, the joke now has a moment that will likely resurface for years.

Lakers close out Rockets as James leads the way

The exchange came during a night when James again reminded everyone why he remains the Lakers’ central force, even deep into his career.

Los Angeles entered Game 6 needing to avoid a return trip home under pressure, and James delivered with 28 points as the Lakers advanced to the Western Conference semifinals.

The Lakers broke the game open with a dominant stretch from late in the first quarter into the second, holding Houston to just three points while building a commanding lead.

By halftime, Los Angeles was up 49-31, and the Rockets never found enough rhythm to threaten a comeback.

Rui Hachimura added 21 points, including five three-pointers, while Austin Reaves returned from injury to score 15. Without Luka Doncic available, the Lakers leaned on defense, experience and James’ control to close the series 4-2.

Houston struggled badly without Kevin Durant, shooting just 35 percent from the floor and making only five of 28 three-point attempts. The loss sent the Rockets out in the first round for the second straight year.

A playoff win with a viral twist

For James, the night blended dominance and comedy. He closed out a road playoff series, moved the Lakers into a second-round matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder, and gave fans a quote that immediately became part of the postseason conversation.

At 41, James is still shaping playoff games. But he is also still showing the kind of awareness that makes viral moments feel effortless.

And when Anderson picked him up off the floor, James did not just accept the assist. He turned it into a punchline only he could deliver.
