Power Outage Due To Late Night Big Hill Road Crash

Columbia, CA — A crash at around 11 pm on Thursday evening knocked down PG&E and AT&T lines.

It occurred on Big Hill Road near the Ledge Lane intersection. The CHP reports that there were no injuries from the crash, but lines were across the roadway. Traffic is again moving freely on Big Hill Road, but cleanup activities are ongoing. PG&E reports that 20 customers in the area are without service, and full restoration is anticipated by 1 pm today. Some AT&T customers may also be impacted.

One of the poles was completely sheared, and both PG&E and AT&T dispatched crews to the site. The vehicle involved was described by the CHP as a small, white crossover vehicle.
