Jaylen Brown once believed the 76ers were better without a healthy Joel Embiid

After entering the Playoffs as the #2 seed, the Boston Celtics surpassed almost every expectation. Unfortunately, they were brought back down to earth by the #7 seed Philadelphia 76ers.
The Celtics had a commanding 3-1 lead, but they blew it against Joel Embiid and the 76ers. Another unfortunate bit was that Celtics star Jaylen Brown once had some choice words about the 76ers and how they played with and without Embiid.
Jaylen Brown’s pointed comments about Joel Embiid resurface after Game 7 loss
For the longest time, the 76ers have had a rollercoaster experience with Embiid. Everyone knows he is one of the most talented players they have ever had, as proven by his MVP award.
Unfortunately, Embiid is also quite well-known for struggling with injuries over the years. This season was no different because Embiid missed plenty of games due to injury.

In contrast, Brown and the Celtics did well this season despite Jayson Tatum recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon. They did well without him, as they went most of the season on a solid winning pace until he returned later in the campaign.
They did well without him, and Brown thought the 76ers also did well without Embiid. During a past livestream on his Twitch, Brown said some words about the 76ers that have resurfaced.
“Personally, they may be better without Embiid, I’m not sure. I know they’re doing all this, they’re playing well, finding an identity. We’ll see if the big fella comes back, but I think they’ve been doing a good job,” Brown said in a resurfaced clip from his Twitch streams.
Now, the 76ers are reaping the benefits of having Embiid on the roster. It is a sweet victory for Philly and the fans, but it is nothing but despair for Brown and the rest of the Celtics community after blowing a 3-1 lead.
