Forecasters are expecting moderate to heavy snow in Colorado’s mountains and foothills this week and say there’s a growing chance for several inches along the Interstate 25 corridor.
“There’s potential for a strong system to impact our area late Monday through Wednesday,” according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters say that while a winter storm is increasingly likely, they don’t yet know exactly where the highest accumulations will be. They also don’t know the timing of when rain will turn into snow in areas at lower elevations.
Monday along the Front Range is expected to have a high near 70 degrees and lows in the 30s, with a 50% chance of showers after noon. Tuesday evening is when the mix of rain and snow are expected to begin and will last into Wednesday. Thursday is forecasted to be sunny with a high of 72 degrees.
Fort Collins could start seeing some snow as early as Monday night.
