1 person dead after multicar crash in south San Jose – The Mercury News

San Jose police responded to a fatal multivehicle collision on Saturday afternoon, according to a social media post on X.
The collision occurred in the area of Blossom Hill Road and Santa Teresa Boulevard around 3:54 p.m. Three people were taken to the hospital. One woman was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Along with police, responders from the San Jose Fire Department and emergency personnel from Santa Clara County and emergency response company American Medical Response were at the scene. The collision caused entrapment, a situation where a driver or passenger is physically restrained or unable to exit the vehicle due to damaged parts, and one confirmed fully engulfed vehicle fire.
Police closed the entire intersection and surrounding streets to investigate the crash. Authorities notified the public on X to avoid the area and use alternate routes because they anticipated the closure to last several hours.
