‘People paid money for this’ BTS fans frustrated over long lines

Streetcar carries BTS fans to Sun Bowl in El Paso to line up
BTS fans rode the streetcar to the Sun Bowl in El Paso, where they lined up, traded freebies and connected before the concert.
BTS fans were apparently still in line at the Sun Bowl late into Saturday night, according to several social media posts.
A long line of people was captured waiting to get into the stadium at about 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, including Amanda Gonzales, who said she had been in the line for more than two hours.
“The line was over one mile long at almost 8 p.m.,” Gonzales said. “People paid money for this.”
Gonzales shared a photo with the El Paso Times of people waiting along the UTEP campus as the sun appeared to set.
“People (are) mad and leaving,” Gonzales added.
Doors were scheduled to open at 5:30 p.m. for the first night of a pair of BTS concerts at Sun Bowl Stadium on Saturday and Sunday, May 2-3.
While BTS was scheduled to perform at 8 p.m., several social media posts indicated that the band was delayed.
ARC El Paso, a local news program, was also at the concert and livestreamed the crowd waiting to get into the Sun Bowl at 8 p.m.
The UTEP Office of Special Events posted on Facebook on Sunday, May 3 that concertgoers should utilize all gates in order to ensure entry. The post reminded fans that general admission can enter at North, South East and South West Gates.
VIP Soundcheck tickets can enter through the North Gate, and premium ticketholders and ADA can enter through the West Gate.
The post also attached QR codes for further instructions on how to locate the gates.
