Tamil Nadu election counting under way, no majority in sight yet

Counting is under way across Tamil Nadu’s 234 assembly seats, where 118 seats are needed for a majority and no alliance has crossed that mark yet. Candidates from other parties and independents cumulatively lead in 68 seats. SPA is trailing close behind with a tally of 66 seats, still needing 52 more to reach the majority mark. NDA is further back with leads in 39 constituencies, requiring 79 additional seats to get to 118.
