Dolly Parton Cancels Las Vegas Residency Due to Health Issues

Dolly Parton has canceled her Las Vegas residency, which had been rescheduled for September, citing her previously reported health issues, while adding that she’s been “responding really well to meds and treatments” and “improving every day,” although the treatments make her “a little swimmy headed.”

Characteristically, she lightened the seriousness of the message with humor. “And of course, I can’t be dizzy carrying around banjos, guitars, and such on five-inch heels — and you know that I’m going to be wearing them,” she said. “Not to mention, all those heavy rhinestone outfits, the big hair, my big… uh, personality. Lord, those — that would make anybody swimmy headed!”

Parton was originally scheduled to perform six shows at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in December. The concerts were rescheduled, due to “health challenges,” for September 2026, but she says in the video that it will be some time before she is “stage-performance ready.”

She added, “I am truly sorry that I’m going to miss all of you that had tickets to see me in Las Vegas. Well, you get on to Vegas, and you have a big time… And I’ll see you somewhere down the line.”

“Thank you for standing by me and showing me so much love and support over the past year,” she wrote in a caption on the video. “I’ve still got some healing to do, but I am on my way! See you soon. 💖 🦋”

In June, Parton announced her six-show run at Caesars Palace in Vegas. Officially named “Dolly: Live in Las Vegas,” the residency was slated to take place from Dec. 4 through Dec. 13. It was promised to be a “hit-driven concert event” and marked Parton’s first string of shows since her “Pure & Simple” tour wrapped up in 2016.
