  • Earlier this year, Blue’s dad, Jay-Z, spoke candidly about her musical talents, revealing she has perfect pitch.

Beyoncé is a co-chair at tonight’s Met Gala, and she brought a very special family member with her: Blue Ivy Carter, her 14-year-old daughter. Blue made her debut at the fashion event, wearing a breathtaking white bubble gown to fête the museum’s “Costume Art” exhibit. She paired it with sunglasses and a white jacket, posing alongside her mother and father, Jay-Z.

She also praised her daughter’s red carpet posing, saying, “She was ready! She is ready.”

Blue joined Beyoncé at a Cécred event earlier this month, where she wore a bow-adorned minidress and matched her mom in a white ensemble.

In March, Blue’s dad, Jay-Z, gave rare comments about her, detailing her musical talent to GQ. “Blue is a crazy pianist, but she won’t let us get her a teacher,” he said. “She doesn’t want it to be a job. But she has perfect pitch. If she hears a song, she’ll be like, ‘Play it again,’ and then she’ll teach herself. That’s just talent, she doesn’t work at that. She worked at this [performing on tour], and it makes me proud that she fought for something that she really wanted to do. I don’t think we’re going to be able to get her off that stage now.”

In October 2024, Beyoncé spoke just as glowingly about her daughter. “Blue is an artist,” the Cowboy Carter singer told GQ. “She has great taste in music and fashion. She is a fantastic editor, painter, and actress. She has been creating characters since she was three. She’s a natural, but I did not want Blue onstage [during my Renaissance World Tour]. Blue wanted it for herself. She took it seriously, and she earned it. And most importantly, she had fun! We all watched her grow more and more every night before our eyes.”
